With the enhancement of human environmental awareness, the development of hydrogen energy is green and clean. The product of hydrogen energy utilization is water, which can be truly zero-emission and pollution-free. It is regarded as the most applicable clean energy and low-carbon energy, or it will become the end using form of future energy. The 21st century is the era of hydrogen energy. The application of water electrolysis to generate hydrogen in the field of renewable energy is irreplaceable. Due to materials and other reasons, the current density of the traditional alkaline electrolyzer stack (asbestos cloth) can only reach 2000A / m2, and the improved non-asbestos can reach 4000A / m2, which still has a certain gap from the international advanced level above 8000A / m2. In April 2020, our company successfully developed a new type alkaline electrolyzer stack with current density of 8000A / m2, which filled the gap of domestic high current density alkaline electrolyzer stack and reached the advanced level of international alkaline water electrolyzer stack. The product uses new materials including diaphragms, electrodes, seals, etc., and adopts a new design concept. The volume is reduced by 8-10 times, the volumetric output density is 2.58L / m3. The hydrogen production can be increased about 8-10 times without changing the volume of the traditional electrolyzer. At present, the industry’s mainstream 1000 m3 / h water electrolyzer’ production is doubled in the original 500m3 / h traditional water electrolyzer (the total length is about 6 meters, the diameter is close to 2 meters, and the weight is about 50T). According to the new water electrolyzer design, the hydrogen output of the electrolyzer reaches at least 4000m3 / h. In the future, large water electrolysis hydrogen generator will be the mainstream configuration in the application of hydrogen energy. The new water electrolysis cell of our company has not only reduced the volume, but also the DC energy consumption has been reduced by about 5% compared with the traditional electrolysis cell. It greatly improve the advanced nature of the application of alkaline electrolyzers in the field of hydrogen production and energy storage from renewable energy!
